Ragsdale Building Supply Center, Inc., located at 8511 Boydton Plank Road, N. Dinwiddie, Virginia (Dinwiddie County), was established in 1972 by Robert G. Ragsdale, Sr. Robert Ragsdale was born in 1924 in Dinwiddie County. He owned various businesses, and in 1972, he decided to open Ragsdale Building Supply. It is a full service building supply that sells to homeowners and contractors.

In 1986, Charlotte Ragsdale joined her father, along with two of her siblings, working at Ragsdale Building Supply. After a few years, her father decided to make her the store manager and materials buyer.

In 2001, Charlotte purchased the business from her father. She did not regret the major decision of buying the company, and she believes that continuing her father's legacy was her destiny. Charlotte knows that this is the age of the box stores (Home Depot & Lowes) but she believes that without her business, or independent businesses like herself, the community as a whole would suffer. 

Charlotte Ragsdale is a proud Small Woman Owned Business. Her abundance of business knowledge and customer experience she attributes to both of her parents. The employees at Ragsdale Building Supply are a top notch group of people. They go the extra mile, without a single hesitation for their customers. She is ecstatic that Ragsdale Building Supply is celebrating 50 years in business.
